Tamarind Granita- A Simple, Sweet, and Sour Summer Dessert

Pinterest

So, over the last several weeks, I've been really keen on the idea of making an ice cream maker. I've bought several different containers, in several different materials, and tried several different methods. I've yet to have great success. The bag method is said to work quite well and I can, a little disappointedly, use that in a pinch. Until I can figure out exactly how to make my miraculous machine for somewhat less fattening versions of sorbets and frozen yogurts, there's another refreshing, relatively healthy dessert I can rely on- Granita.

This dessert is so good, refreshing, versatile, cheap, and simple. All it requires are the ingredients, a shallow pan, a freezer, and a fork. I highly recommend my delicious recipe.

Picking exercises that are right for you

As some of you may know, in the last several months I started studying for my YMCA FIT certification as a personal trainer. Pretty awesome-sauce. I've enjoyed the first two phases, though getting used to studying again is a bit of a challenge. In this little break before Phase III and THE BIG TEST, I'm trying to go over the important bits and make sure it's all in my brain. Luckily, the material is interesting and useful. So useful, in fact that I wanted to share with you something I learned about making a workout safe and effective - Exercise Analysis.

You can find exercises everywhere, videos, magazines, you can make them up, see a new graphic of a workout on Pinterest, or a video on Youtube. They may look wonderful, but how do you determine if the exercise is right for you? Read on for some tips for a safer workout.

Eat more veggies: Bell Peppers and Spicy Stir-Fry

Pinterest
For a vegetarian who hates vegetables and collects recipes based on that fact, I have to admit something. I'm beginning to love certain veggies and am starting to find a meal without them out of the ordinary. There are still a lot out there that doesn't quite tickle my fancy, but I'm on my way to conversion. I just keep persisting, keep adding a bit of a new vegetable or vegetables in general until I like them. I'm wearing myself down.

One of the vegetables that has got me now is the bell pepper. They go well in a sandwhich, can be added to rice or pasta, and I want to make them into a salsa. Lately they've been on sale in downtown Montreal so they're economical.

and, since one of my goals is to work on the nutrition for my vegetarian lifestyle, eating this food is a good idea. Besides their health value, they are the star of my go-to recipe: let's call it Ring dem bells stir-fry.
